pjdonovan 0 #1 December 25, 2015 I'll start by saying I highly doubt one or the other is going to make or break a dive, but I was curious if there was an argument or consensus for one helmet being better than others for RW work?
Anachronist 2 #2 December 25, 2015 No real RW experience here but if you are talking about the Cookie G2 and G3 they are essentially the same helmet. The G3's liner is a little nicer and "updated" (particularly around the mouth) and the G2 has a clear coat over the carbon fiber that flakes off which is kinda annoying. If it isn't a price thing then just go with the one still in production, if you can get a G2 dirty cheap then go with that.
mathrick 2 #3 December 25, 2015 G3 is G2 with redesigned mouth grill to reduce fogging. Everything else is, AFAIK, not related to the model, but rather to the particular unit's DOM. Early G2's and G3's came in carbon fibre, later ones switched to moulded ABS, without the model designation changing."Skydivers are highly emotional people. They get all excited about their magical black box full of mysterious life saving forces."
rehmwa 2 #4 December 27, 2015 the best helmet is the one that fits your head best - since we all have different head shapes - asking other people about it is a crappy substitute for just test driving a few good candidates ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
