Bonehead Composites, under JFChristopher, Inc now offers an alternative helmet for military parachute operations The driving factors in the development of the Military Three Tier (M3T) helmet are impact protection, comfort and communication, and auxiliary oxygen compatibility. EXTERNAL FEATURES
The M3T is secured using a padded chin-strap with a ¾ inch metal safety latch tested 400 psi. In addition, the helmet features a flat accessory attachment area with a Velcro retention loop and elastic snap strap on the rear of the helmet. This area can be utilized for strobe/chemlight placement etc. A leather/neoprene wind block, located on the forehead and nape of the neck provides optimal wind and additional noise protection. While goggle snaps on both sides are included as standard items, the M3T is blast shield adaptable. LINER CONSTRUCTION
The M3T liner system is composed of four parts that provide for optimal comfort, communication mounts and impact protection. The right and left side ear seals are composed of open cell polyurethane foam, covered in soft leather which molds and seals around the ears. Within these seals are ear pads where communication speakers and audible altimeters can be comfortably secured. Completing the ear pads are Velcro backings securing them to the helmet. The top pad, which provides comfort for the crown of the head, is composed of open cell foam covered in durable, black polyester blend liner material. In-between the shell and top pad is high density Styrene foam for impact energy attenuation. SHELL CONSTRUCTION
The M3T composite shell is constructed of a Kevlar and carbon fiber blend with an epoxy resin system. These materials are pressure molded in the manufacturing process to produce a very high density and light weight shell. While our standard shell color is black spackle mat, other colors are available upon request. OXYGEN RECEIVERS & COMMUNICATIONS
Bonehead Composites utilizes standard Scott receivers and manufactures its own bayonet receiver covers. Machined out of aluminum, these black anodized receivers are adjustable and can be mounted to accommodate different bayonet styles.
