Eliminating the National Directors
SStewart replied to SStewart's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Quoting Ed here: "I want to abolish the position of National Director. Effective boards number 10 to 12 members; USPA’s board is twice that size. Eliminating the eight National Director positions and retaining the 14 Regional Director positions would downsize the board. National Directors have none of the many responsibilities placed upon Regional Directors, and turnover among National Directors is low because they are largely reelected based on name recognition. But being a famous skydiver or well-known DZO doesn’t guarantee they contribute to the board (some do but many don’t). Downsizing to 14 would make the board more efficient and save over $22,000 in board travel expenses each year. " Seems like compelling reasons to me. It would be easy to do since the RDs have the vote. -
We have a new USPA National Director that ran on the platform of downsizing the current board from 22 down to 14. I totally support this and I hope Ed Scott is going to make this happen. The paid staff and the 14 elected regional directors are the future of USPA. It is time.

USPA BOD Election Results 2022-2224
SStewart replied to 3331's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
5539 total votes out of over 40 thousand USPA members. The message is clear; most skydivers don't care about USPA. -
This mod will help keep the cap from getting snagged. I have seen 3 people lose the caps with a Reflex and all 3 were on the door during exit. Standing up too tall in the door.

I have one, in fact you can have the PC too. The PC is yellow, the cap is purple. I also have a complete Reflex container for sale

A bit insulting to Sergeant Schultz don't ya think? At least Schultz admitted he knew nothing.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE for our beloved Handsome Dave - June 29, 2019 at Maytown Sport Parachute Club. MSPC is located at Donegal Springs Airpark (N71), 188 Airport Road, Marietta, PA 17356. The celebration will begin at 3:00PM. at 4:00 there will be an ash drop at the Susquehanna River. Transportation will be arranged at MSPC as we will need to carpool. We return to the airport afterwards. Dave is providing the beer and Harvey's Bar-B-Q will be catering. Trudy extends her thanks to all for the well wishes and offers of assistance. ~from The Herd Facebook page

Dave had many "saves" himself and when you multiply that by all the riggers he trained the numbers would be in the thousands. A life well lived.

Wendy: My guess is they looked up S&TA info from the USPA data base. Mark: Can I use that? Ha!

Yes! Simple solution; magnets on the slider stops. Tabs could work as well, similar to slider locks on the risers but sewn on the slider stops instead. This would certainly help to keep the slider in place during the packing process. Onward and Upward!
