Balloon Jumps @Eloy

Does anyone know whether there is still balloon jumping in Eloy? I had heard Burner was in the hospital some time back - is he back to flying, or has someone else taken over? Calls/emails to the webpage contact info were not returned. Thanks.

Not yet. You can call the dz to ask, they can't schedule a jump but they will know once it starts back up again.

Well, That's a bummer. I was planning to go out to Eloy primarily for the balloon. Those are my favorite jumps. If anyone hears if balloons are coming back to Az, please post.

Air Carriage Hot Air Balloons in Albuquerque, New Mexico flies jumpers all the time. I've jumped with them many times and it's always a blast. Give them a call to schedule a jump.

Burner took last winter off to get some new knees. He also took his recovery time to help train up some other balloon pilots, too.
I would expect balloons to come back to Eloy in October some time. The sign up form outside manifest says "on hold until October" (<- I may have paraphrased, but not by much).
I'm told historically they didn't bother even trying to do balloon jumps in the summer and early Fall anyhow.

As of this past Saturday, the sign outside Manifest says "No balloon jumps until further notice." It's possible they may come back this winter but I wouldn't count on it. I'd check out other places that may offer balloon jumps; I've seen people posting about them at Perris.

Dan Holst offers them out of Perris. His facebook page is Balloon Skydive and he posts on there of upcoming jumps - I went with him in February, and it was outstanding.

Burner confirmed at their last launch (this past April, I think...) that his son would be back to do balloon jumps when the weather cools.

Burner and company are back! Balloon jumps are happening again in Eloy. Signups are outside Manifest. I've already had friends do it this year; it's definitely a go!

So which company is doing the balloon jumps this year at eloy, and how often are they available? I was thinking about running down there for my bday, and wanted an idea of my chances of some silent freefall. I love skydive az in the cold months

Not active in summer. I think They'll be back in Oct.
