What happened at 1:51???

This is what really scares me in skydiving! Perfectly fine canopy just decided it didn't want to fly anymore?

Ouch. Looks like a sudden gust of crosswind wind caught it and kited it. You can see the observer's vest flapping. Fortunately the pilot managed to stabilized enough to plane out before landing. Who was that? And did they have a license to use that music?

Crappy turn, not much power left after levelling out, way to long on rears, too much rear riser input while leaning forward and subsequently his canopy stalled right before he transitioned to the yellow stopping thingies called toggles. 
 

user error and something you should discuss with a competent coach before learning to land with rears. gusts didn‘t play a relevant role in this if any. 
search this forum for explanations regarding toggle stalls vs rear riser stalls.

Looks like turbulence or dust devil. 
there is a tree line and trailers not to far off to that side of the pond.

They aren't called dust devils for nothing

Also, you typically can't monetize when licensing music this way.  Also, the music label may request ads to be placed on the video so they they may monetize it.

Yah. Rights-holder stuff is a big mess, what with royalties, monetization, fair use, etc. In a way it looks like RIAA finally lost the war. I hope so.

It's a canopy collapse caused by turbulence or a dust devil. They are quite rare, but they do happen. In 1300 jumps (at mostly windy DZs), I have seen exactly one canopy collapse, and it happened because someone landed just downwind of some very large trees on a very windy day. They are mostly avoidable by not landing downwind of objects that create turbulence and staying away of dust devils in areas where they form. They are 99% avoidable by just not jumping when it's too windy or there are lot of dust devils forming.

That could have ended up pretty bad. He didn't PLF!

We get dust devils in Arizona on calm days as well. They are caused by the hot air rising.

Correct. Eloy, Perris, Snore.. All the "desert" dz's have plenty of dust devils, typically from April to September.  And most often when it's dry and not as windy.

And if you've only seen 1 canopy collapse, you need to get out more. They happen.

The video looks more like a gust or general turbulence... Tho who know..

I do all the time. I jump a full rds in street clothes and down the shirt is the best spot. Give me a name and photo of said girl that you claim this is. Lol
