Top 0 #26 January 27, 2003 You have to be shittin' me! Jumpin' in the rain may hurt a bit but drying out the canopy is no problem. You just pack up and get on the next dry load! And to those talkin' about maybe my canopy will fly different when wet, It will fly like it has less porosity. I always enjoy lurkin' over here. You guys never fail to reconfirm my belief that skydiving has become overly pussified and yuppified. "Treetop"

Then you´ve never gotten your chute/rig so wet as we had that CF load I don´t mind packing and jumping a damp main. But I do mind jumping a damp reserve. And a soaked main. ciel bleu, Saskia

If that's true, then it must hurt a lot less when you get hit by rain when you're floating, since you're hitting the flattest part of the drop. But it sure does seem to hurt just as much . . . Some sadistic part of me gets a kick out of watching the rain bead up on my visor while someone across the formation is trying to protect their chin in their Gath. SkydiveMonkey 0 #29 January 27, 2003 What about swoopers who get wet, then jump again later in the day? They don't get a repack straight away - they wait until the end of the meet.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
Rdutch 0 #30 January 27, 2003 Some of them do at least, I have seen reserves popped at my dz a week after the pond swooping nationals that were soaking wet, and I know another person who's rig stinks like hell cause he only repacs every pack cycle, been wet or not. Qweaver 0 #31 January 28, 2003 About those "pointy" ends. Someone just did research on that and found that the bottoms are flat and the tops are round...so put that rumor away.
