  1. My very good friend and Air Trash webmaster passed suddenly on Wed. December 22, 2021 while clearing brush on a property. Fred has been involved in skydiving since the early days. He was a good friend to all and has kept up the AT website for the last 10 years. I will miss you my friend. Rest in peace Brother.
  2. Rest in peace Pat. You will be missed... Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  3. i'm very sorry to hear about Tony's passing. As Jerry said he was one of the true 'Good Guys' in our sport. May he rest in peace and I'm sure he's having a cold one with Perry and the rest of our dearly departed Air Trash members right now. Keep an eye out for us Tony. Him him.... Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  4. California City.... GONE... The airport is still there but the DZ is gone. There was one that Joe Crotwell used to run in another part of the desert and they had the anuall Pecker Head Meet there but I can not for the life of me remember the name of the DZ. Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  5. I used to manage Thompson Field or Bear Creek during it's final few years of operation. I've made quite a few jumps there out of anything that would fly. Landed there in one of Skips DC3s once and it liked to scare me to death because I thought we were landing on a foot trail at first. Skip used to keep his entire fleet of aircraft there until the place started to be threatened with housing popping up all around us. I have video of the last DC3 flying out on it's way to it's new home in Elsinore. He had 3 and this one was the DST that was used by the Brooklyn Dodgers originally. It was the only Sleeper DC3 made at the time. It was closed by the city using illegal tactics including the use of the Murietta Police Dept who I had thrown off the property twice by the California Highway Patrol. There is no end to my contempt for the Murietta Police Dept. and the city council. They are all as crooked as they come. Here is a link to some photos of us jumping out of ultralight aircraft at Bear Creek. We used to do this once a year and called it the Bare Ass Creek Jump And Dump Boogie. There is also an article on the doomed airport and how it was being threatened. http://www.airtrash.com/bash.htm Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? 6. Jerry I am so sorry to hear about this. I was just thinking about Pat the other day as he was going to be my back up webmaster for the Air Trash Home Page if something ever happened to me. This is very sad to hear and also very surprising. R.I.P. Pat. Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  7. I don't know why anyone would want to talk someone else into skydiving. How are you going to explain your actions to the parents or spouse if something happens? I never try to talk people into skydiving. I try to talk them out of it. If I can't talk them out of it, they are the people I actually want in the sport. Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  8. Cool Sandy. Are you planning on making those jumps at the Old Farts meet? Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  9. I've seen better days in skydiving. The latest edition of the sport doesn't thrill me like the old traditions did. Mike Owens said it best. "When it's no longer fun, I'm done... So with that I hearby hang up my rig and say so long to one of my favorite past times. It doesn't mean I won't be interested in what's going on with the sport. I believe you can take the skydiver out of skydiving but you can't take the skydiving out of the skydiver. It's been one hell of a ride. (Mike Owens said that too) Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  10. John Bull El Cap 173... Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  11. I still have one of the double zipper jumpsuits and it's in really good contidion. I jump it once in a while just for fun. Here are a couple of pictures from the AT website. 12. Here's the poster... Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  13. Here's our version... Still wont work... Crap... Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  14. I'll have to get John Bull's story. I have the picture of his leap. Number 173 Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
  15. I have one of the original Nude Beer posters that they were handing out at the drop zone during the shooting. Green Light "Harry, why did you land all the way out there? Nobody else landed out there." "Your statement answered your question."
