As my canopy was opening up on my first jump(SL) my reaction was "WOAH WOAH WOAH I DIDN'T LIKE THAT AT ALL". But that was simply because I had never experienced such a rush of adrenaline so extreme before in my life-only being 16 at the time. When I got down on terra firma I wanted to try it again to see whether I would like it cos I wasn't sure whether I had enjoyed the experience on my first jump!!!!wierd I know!

Its a beautiful sunny day, and wat am i doin? revising! I gave up skydiving for my exams and wat does the weather go and do, it rubs it in! Iv spent all day trying to revise history, yet find myself having flashbacks to skydiving. I only made it to 5 sec delays, so i just replay that moment of exit again and again. Im in the door, i can sense this vast space down and to my left; the cold air is howling against my leg and roaring in my ear, the sun is shining through the pilot's side window, illuminating my friends sat on the floor in front of me, smiling, laughing, telling me to have a good jump. "LOOK UP", i look up, lock eyes with the JM, he too is smiling. "GOOO". Push down with the right arm and leg, fling left out to punch the wheel to my left; this strange thunk of equipment, the roar in my ear increases, the cold air hits my face and chest and i can, for a brief sec smell aviation fuel. I'm free, the air catches me and i realise how surreal the whole situation is ,as again for a brief sec, am outside the plane and can see all the people inside; watch the plane soar upwards, my voice screaming in my ear above the howl of the wind. "1000, 2000, 3000, 4000" Arch hard, reach and pull. As i scream out the safety count i can feel the weight lift off my back and i can hear a change in the howl of the wind as the pilot chute inflates; i can hear the clink of the three rings as the deploying canopy whips me upright. Massive deaccelaration, pleasant and smooth,a rustling, flapping noise as the canopy deploys, and then silence. I'm suspended in the sky, alone with the "thwap, thwap" of the slider. It is a lot better in my head, where i can actually feel that stuff, rather than just read it God i miss this shit!

Hey, i was just saying that maybe America should help us out like we have helped them in their crusade. I know we have totally ballsed up the Ireland situation, maybe America can provide us with a new angle of attack against these terrorists. The reason I have posted this is because I have personally witnessed Americans flagging support for PIRA. It pisses me off, so I apologise for perhaps posting something that attacked all Americans for supporting the IRA.

I don't want these post to degenerate into a slanging match, but with all this talk of war against terrorism that has been flying around since 9/11, I would just like to ask what America has done to help England against the IRA? Don't get me wrong, I, along with virtually everyone in the world was totally horrified when 9/11 occured, it was a senseless waste of life. But maybe America will realise now what England has had to put up with from the IRA. The fear you guys feel now for your future and the safety of your children and loved ones is what England has had to put up with for decades. Not very nice is it? But, whilst our PM is backing you all the way against this new wave of terror, what have your Presidents done to help England against the IRA? Sent money to these vile people so that they can purchase weapons to kill our young, brave soldiers. It is not very nice to open the paper in the morning to hear of young 18/19 year old soldiers having their heads taken off by sniper rifles. But America has ignored our plight, despite us being "cousins", and has the blood of British men, women and children on her hands. Perhaps you can now see why we are not as much on your side as you expect us to be. It seems that America doesn't help other people unless it directly benefits them, maybe America can start turning their attention to the IRA, one of the most dangerous, vicious, well trained group of terrorists in the world, after they have dealt with Iraq?

*** She has done nothing for me compared to what America has done for Europe. Fuck you asshole, EVERYONE in Europe hates you americans when u say that. Your country is so up its own ass about it's own importance. England was, is and always will be a greater country than you will ever be. WE MADE YOU. You think the world revolves around you, you attack Europe 4 not wanting a war. We are sick of war and death, we've had our fair share of it in the last century. Then you gungho americans come over and try and start a war, and then wonder why everyone gets so pissed off. Your President is such a dumbass, but you expect us to follow him to war. You think you will fight the war, win and then leave Europe to clear up the mess whilst you go back home to budweiser and medals. THINK AGAIN. You have "misunderestimated" (to quote your beloved president) Europe.

The weather is gonna be good according to the online forecast and would really like to have enough people down there to get 1 or 2 lifts up. Will be there in the afternoon( just after 12).

I don't know if anyone remembers my post about screwing up my 5sec delays on November 9th, but i have finally managed to jump despite bad weather that resides in wintry England. I stayed stable (yeah!); i did turn when i went in for the pull, but i managed to stay stable and have a nice smooth opening. All i did was just take my socks off to have better awareness of my legs(it works really well), and just relax. Thanks very much to- JPA Sonic kmcguffee riggerrob Hallur Casch dterrick jumpy RichM- my jumpmaster for the jump, cheers. jessefs Bodyflier bobsoutar who replied to my post, it is nice to know that people are willing to help. Thanks again guys. Gotta go now, am heading for the blue skys that are supposedly over my DZ! Have a good day!

Hey another person my age who skydives! Fantastic, its just a shame that you live a few thousand miles away in sunny America. Damn annoying, considering you are the "cutest newbie ever!"!
-
Hey, no-one is saying they are scared in freefall, just that they are scared before they exit. That is quite a normal feeling, and i hope i never lose that feeling, as it provides the respect for this sport that we need, cos skydiving kills in a heartbeat. I know i am just a newbie to this sport, and perhaps the fear does goes after a while, but i know that for me the fear helps me to think about my safety. Just my humble opinion.

I was wondering how long it has been since any students in Britain actually jumped, cos where i am it is shit all the time and i havn't jumped in 5 weeks!!! Severe withdrawal symptoms and depression. It is always cloudy, windy, raining and very cold. It seems that every time it seems to be good enough for jumping i am stuck at college, and it is very annoying. I really want to get off 5 sec delays, and the weather is not helping me at all I'm starting to get bored with my weekends now with nothing to do during the day but stare up at the sky and pray for jumpable conditions. Oh, roll on the summer months where i can jump all day and and drink all night in glorious( well as glorious as it gets in Britain) weather!!

Did my first three s/l jumps when i was 16. Waited a while, about a year; then started another s/l course, absolutely loved it and here i am slowly working my way up to A licence! The great thing is that when i reach the average age that most people start skydiving( 25 isn't it?), i will have a hellva lot of jumps and experience, kick ass!!
