  1. Thanks everyone for your feedback and suggestions. I'm hoping I can find my own unique way of doing it as we have a 8 day 4-way camp coming up and I have visions of a black thigh. Think positive, right? I've tried the foot hook, leg first vs hand first, neither are reachable; I feel like I"m literally bouldering over the side of the plane and hoping for the best! Thanks again! PurpleNed! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  2. I'm looking for some advice from shorter camera flyers (I'm 5'3) doing otter climb outs pain free. My home DZ is a Caravan so exits are easy; last year in Eloy I ended up with a black bruised left leg from using said leg to anchor off to jump to the camera step (I can't reach the hand hold from the door). I'd love some advice from individuals who have mastered this; I've talked to 'taller' people and while very helpful; just don't quite get the physics of it. There must be a successful way to do so, I'd appreciate suggestions, and if there is a thread already please direct me (I didn't find in my search). Many thanks! Cheers, PurpleNed I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  3. Trust me when I say do not ever stay at the Days Inn PHoenix Airport. Free shuttle or not. Ended up there in a forced overnight and had bed bugs, blood stained pillows and sheets. Filthy floors, grey towels and it goes on. If it had not been the middle of the night on a business trip I would not have stayed. HORRIBLE. Tried complaining to Days Inn and no response. Bed Bugs. Need I say more? I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  4. Fabulous, thank you! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  5. Hi I'm looking for an 'old' article that Jack Jeffries wrote about the dynamics of teams and challenges keeping them together etc. Someone mentioned it to me and I tried searching the forums as well as the internet. Not sure what it's called, just know it is how to create, hold, maintain and keep a team through thick/think/good/bad. Suggestions are appreciated! Thanks! PurpleNed I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  6. OMG. OMG. To the rest of the CatWomen team and all Mia's close friends, family I'm so, so sorry to hear about this. Every loss is tragic, but this is going to hit the Canadian community hard (and of course all her friends from elsewhere). OMG Mia, sweet Mia. I don't even know what to say. I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  7. Very nice - is that the extra foam on the back? When did you order this and how long did it take? They're quoting 10 weeks right now. Cheers! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  8. OK fine, it IS morning here, and I've only had one coffee! Let me rephrase in proper English: I'm looking for feedback from Mirage owners, about the Mirage Rig. I'd like to hear pros and cons from jumpers who have owned a Mirage for a while and done a fair bit of jumping in it. Thanks! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  9. I'm looking for some pros and cons feedback on Mirage owners. I did a search on line, and while I read a bunch, most were new owners, and newer jumpers. I've jumped a Voodoo for 4 years now, LOVE it, and was ordering a new Talon FS - but with a 17 week waiting time, I'm reconsidering. I phoned Mirage and they're only 10 week and I was thinking about them versus RI product previously anyway. Just curious to hear from anyone who has jumped one for a while, how it's lasted, stayed comfortable, any cons to it. BTW - I do all RW work, so no concerns about free flying, and I jump a Spectre 135, and will be buying an Optimum 143, and I'm only 5'3, so short!! Appreciate the feedback, Cheers! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  10. Thanks - I do have the swatches already, I"m just trying to sort out the theme of what goes where! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  11. Hi, It's been a few years since I ordered a new rig, but is there anywhere online I can go to colour it in before I order it? That's the best (and hardest part), however Square 1's site is not up for harness' and I"m not sure where else to look? I"m ordering a new Talon FS, and there isn't that option on the RI site either. Thanks! Ned I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  12. I just realized Chris was one of the soldiers this afternoon when I picked up a paper, and it saddens me very much. While I didn't know him intimately, he always struck me as someone who had a great sense of honor, and he was always fun to be around. I was just saying to a friend of mine yesterday (literally) that he wrote one of my all time favorite articles for CanPara, and I was thinking about bugging him to write some more. He will be missed, and my thoughts go out to his friends and family, I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  13. Who knew that I would actually miss being woken up in the middle of the night during a boogie by his laugh. Never thought that was possible, but its true. Perry was a memorable person, and I won't forget him. Ned I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  14. Thanks - I had done a search this morning for Optimum Reserve and PD Reserve, and it didn't come up for some weird reason. Regardless, thanks! I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
  15. Just curious to know if anyone has tested the new reserve by PD, and what they thought of it. I went on their website and read all the articles, I'm curious about the new type of material they are using more than anything else. Cheers, Ned I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
