BIGUN 1,233 #26 July 27, 2018 <-------------Anvil Brother #2. 6'6" 250 Base for the World FreeFall Convention's No Suit, No Stress Sunset dives. If you could catch us and stay with us - you could join the Anvil Brothers. There were a ton of us (OK bad Joke) Times have changed. There was a time when 254# was the max fully geared weight the manufacturers' placarded their equipment for. Most DZ's would not violate that due to being in breech of the FAR's. Times & Training methodologies have emerged in the past ten-ish years. Most manufacturers now have equipment with a placarded weight of 300#. And, a lot of DZ's around the country keep at least one Big Boy rig on hand. I'd say to not get frustrated with a couple of DZ's turning you down. It's not personal; but a lot of Instructors are < 6'1" and < 200# and for some its a matter of safety during AFF. Or, it could simply be they do not have a Big Boy rig. So, 1) be honest about your height/weight, and 2) try to be height/weight proportionate (Your inseam and arm length should be relative to your waist size. i.e., 38 inseam = 38ish to 40ish waist).Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
