  1. I bought another cypres and have an old one laying around that i cant trade in for the value, does anyone buy these old units for any reason, or are they just paperweights
  2. I like them both, cypres my choice, track record and customer service is better than others
  3. Javelin and UPT IMO are the best designed, reserve packing which is easiest is UPT
  4. I have a cypres i am replacing with 4 months of life left, what do i do if i cant sell it, or what way do i dispose of it with low value left in it.
  5. Thats the way i do every repack pull out the safety stow and inspect every repack
  6. I had a conversation with another rigger about replacing his safety stow, I mentioned he needed a new one after i fealt the elastic strands broken..When do you replace them, i was taught any sign of broken elastic get replaced
  7. I just received a yepzon from a friend 3 months ago, no wonder it was free
  8. It's worth it to me after 27 years and a Master Rigger for two container manufacturers, I've been on drop tests, worked on a lot repairs for containers and canopies, besides my full time job the extra money is my play money, Bottom line if you work at it and bust your hump, Yes.
  9. It depends on what you want to do.My ticket has paid for itself ten times over, and I invested less for it in 95. I got most of my experience working for 2 container manufacturers. I've chased a few government contracts. overall its one of the best investments, you can make money if you bust your butt
  10. I have a customer with a Reflex, one of the early ones, who would like a RSL installed on his container. Is there anyone who still manufactures spare parts for them.I recall someone in Northern Cal a while back that was but I cant remember who. Any help on this would be appreciated.TIA.
  11. I personally feel its up to the jumper to have someone experienced and with knowledge to pick the reserve thats suitable for comfort and experience, I have upsized my current reserve to reflect my experience and how often i jump, I'm getting older in not as good a shape when i was younger and know that if i choose a reserve to small and crash too the ground, I'll have more of a chance of getting hurt.Choose a reserve best for your experience and not your ego. Blue Skies to all.
  12. Just like the others have said, hands down cypres is my only choice, their track record, reliability and customer service. It's used by most skydivers i know
  13. I just saw something on the Perris website looking for a pilot for the dc9 it sounds like their getting ready to possibly fly it again, i did jump it in 03 if i remember right and loved it.If you haven't done a jet jump it should be on your bucket list.
  14. When dealing with container issues, it's best to always start with the manufacturer, then your covered if something were to happen.
  15. I have a G3 xxl and tried on a G4 xl and i thought it was a better fit
