  1. I need health insurance and I can't find it. I searched the forum and found a bunch of threads but they were all really old so can anyone tell me about the current situation? The USPA benefits site isn't giving me much hope. Thanks in advance.
  2. We've got it on board the plane ready to go every flight, masks and hookups and everything. We go this high all the time, so we only use it if we think we need it. The pilot uses it every single time we go high altitude, all the way up.
  3. Haha, dang didn't notice that. It is pretty long for a chest strap though and was secure when I checked it before exit.
  4. We jumped from 17,000 and we hit 174 on the way down, it was a blast! This was my fourth hybrid, but I've not felt one that pulled that hard before, I'm sore in a bunch of places lol. Here's a video, and a couple of snapshots are attached. I'm in the gray helmet and the black and red jumpsuit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-KHD3pL8j8 I also finally got my water training done last Wednesday, so I'm sending in my B license paperwork today. It has been a great week, I'm so excited to be making progress in this sport!
  5. What do you guys think of the NeoXs from Parasport Italia vs. the Optima II or the N3? ChutingStar has the NeoXs for $179.
  6. Yeah, I had one last night. Was in free fall, had a bag lock on the very last stow for some reason, and last thing I remember thinking was "Well crap, that's $75 for a re-pack" as I chopped and went for my reserve.
  7. Since I'm new, I'm planning on starting kind of big. I weigh 190 so I'm thinking my exit weight will be around 220 or so depending on what gear I end up with. I was originally going to go with a 265 sq/ft because that's what I've been jumping as a student. After thinking about it though, I'm probably going to start with a 230 until I get more comfortable with this sport. My goal eventually is a 190, but I'm going to wait until I have at least 100 jumps before I go there.
  8. Yeah, looks like I'm going to have to go that route. I've found a couple in the classifieds that looked like they might have worked, but I wasn't sure because the sellers weren't that detailed on the actual harness size.
  9. I'm kind of a tall guy, at 6 foot 4 inches. What would be a good, used container to look for that will fit me? Most of the rigs I've found with the main canopy size I'm looking for have apparently been made for shorter people. Thanks in advance.
  10. Yep, that's me doing my first AFF jump a couple of weeks ago
  11. Thanks Wendy, looks like I've got my work cut out for me, can't wait!
  12. Cool thanks. So after I finish all my AFF jumps, I just show up to my dropzone with the application and work down the page like a checklist until everything's complete? What is the average number of jumps to finish it?
  13. Thanks for the welcome! I'm hoping to go again next weekend. I think I've got the licensing process mostly figured out, but are there any requirements to be fullfilled after the AFF jumps but before the A license? I think I read somewhere that I'll have to complete some relative work jumps or something but I'm not sure what that means.
