  1. The company did have some quality issues in the early days, but have totally upped their game. The suits I see come from them now are very different to the early suits and look very well made. I just bought an FS suit for my wife from Jedi and must say it looks very well put together. Customer service was absolutely top notch as well :) Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
  2. We make a huge number of suits, and sadly, despite thorough checking, the odd mistake can happen - we're all human. I'm not aware, however, of a single instance where a problem that has been brought to our attention hasn't been fixed or remedied. The first thing to do if you notice any issue with your new suit is to contact your dealer, or us directly if you placed your order direct. Please, if you, or any of your friends have not experienced the above, please contact me directly: [email protected] What response did you / your friends get when they contacted us? Sizing is a tricky one. We will make the suit to the measurements we are given. Sadly, some people don't always get the measurements right, or put on a bit of winter weight while waiting for their suit, which can obviously cause issues. If for some reason the suit doesn't match the measurements we're provided, we would of course get the suit re-built. 3. I'm confused. Why wouldn't you just get it made the right size to start with? Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
  4. I thought I was done with this thread, but this one really got me. To make a comparison between your wingsuit experience and Jay Mo's canopy experience genuinely made me laugh. You posted a video of you fucking up and said: You were given critique, in what I think at the start was actually a very polite manner. I firmly believe the issues you had stem from being un-current and then strapping on the big new suit, jumping from an aircraft with a tight, tricky door that you'd only jumped a handful of times previous. You had a botched exit due to the above, were caught out and lost control, before regaining stability. The suit flew you, as big suits can tend to do if you're not 100% in control of it. I suspect a more student-esque exit, keeping everything closed a bit longer, would possibly have prevented this. Certainly as you go used to the new suit. You know this is what I think, i've said it a few times in this thread now. Yes, you mentioned being un-current, but also asked for critique. There's your critique, as based on your following posts, I don't think you've learned from it. I say this, as surely, being in the sport long enough, you know not to change too many variables at once. You should know that it's not a wise idea to throw a big new suit on for the first jump of the season. If you didn't, I really hope you have learned this now. The tirade of posts afterwards are truly bizarre and I genuinely don't understand what the problem is. Your post has been replied to, as asked, and now you're just launching in to some very experienced wingsuit pilots that have been around the sport for years. Please, step away from the computer, go drink a beer, hang out with your buddies at the DZ and move on. 5. There is NO revolutionary advice. You were un-current and felt it was a good idea to strap on a brand new, high performance wingsuit to jump a plane you had jumped only a handful of times. This, in my opinion, was the wrong thing to do. You claim that I am naive to think that everyone else doesn't do this. Thankfully, this is not what I usually see. Yes, there are those that change many variables at once whilst uncurrent, but the vast majority of jumpers I experience and talk to take the time to think it through and think which bit might kill them before making the changes. Ask yourself this, would you have tumbled out of control in the manner you had if you had been jumping a smaller suit you were familiar with? Would that comfort in a small suit have helped you understand the best way to exit that particular aircraft before jumping the new, bigger suit? I believe that would have been the better way to go about it, and therefore perhaps this thread would never have existed. The countless threads from you afterwards make no sense to me. It strikes me that you just don't like hearing what you're being told. Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
  6. It does. "I can't get the performance I want out of a smaller suit", reads as "I've not learned the small suit, so surely the bigger suit will give me what I think I need". :( Note, not aimed at the OP. 7. I don't think you've read what you've written and my reply. To quote your OP: You weren't current and put the big new suit on. This doesn't need any hindsight, it's basics. The same principle exists throughout skydiving. Start of the season, un current? I think I'll try that new, heavily loaded Velo. No. At no point did I say anything about experience vs suit. I asked about your experience as a side because I'm aware of a growing number of people in our sport racing to get to the big suits. The Aura is a big suit. I was curious as to your experience, progression and need for such a big suit. I still am. 8. I'm interested in your experience ahead of jumping a high performance suit, after a period of no jumping. I'm directing this at you, but I'm seeing a considerable trend of people with lower experience jumping in to the biggest suits they can find, then posting up a story or status update about how well the first jumps didn't go. What concerns me is that you know the first mistake you made, yet went ahead and did it anyway. Glad it worked out with just a lack of stability, but it could have been worse - though overall certainly preventable. 11. Option C. Fly a smaller suit a whole heap more. What's the rush to jump the big suits? Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
  12. It's also not new. The idea's been around a while. As others have said, why add complication to a system that already works. Phoenix Fly - High performance wingsuits for skydiving and BASE Performance Designs - Simply brilliant canopies
