ojhi_03 0 #1 Posted August 13 Hi, I am looking for information on GPS trackers that could be attached to the main. My main reason for getting a gps tracker: I have a complete Parachute systems rig. They are out of business, so no more spares are available. I do have a skyhook and hoping that it will keep the reserve freebag and PC attached to the main on cut away. If I find the main, I find the freebag nd reserve PC. Any help or pointers are appreciated. Thanks
IanHarrop 41 #2 August 13 If you use an Apple iPhone the answer is easy... their Air Tags. If you use android, stay away from Samsung Smarttags... they only work with Samsung phones. I made the mistake, but won't again. Rather look for tags that work with Google Find which works on all Android phones including Samsung. By example... https://www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/gadgets-tech/google-android-airtag-tracker-b2526969.html
connor401 1 #3 October 3 Do not use airtags. If the main lands outside of Bluetooth range of any other iPhones (i.e. In the middle of the woods), it won't work. Look for something with its own independent cellular connection. I personally use JioBit, but most anything marketed as a pet tracker will do the job.
MickPatch 55 #4 October 4 An airbag, tile, or the android tag are OK but have limitations on Bluetooth range. Where they can be useful is if you use spot assist cutaway function it will generally get you close enough for the Bluetooth to work with them
