KathieL34 0 #1 Posted December 31, 2019 So I was searching for custom hearing protection for skydiving and found this guys from Big Ear. Have you guys tried their products? Their product called The One looks great and I'm thinking of purchasing a pair that I can use for skydiving and also motorcycle riding.
sundevil777 99 #2 December 31, 2019 I wonder if it is the same or equivalent technology as these: /cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=4083263#4083263 I’ve been using the low profile surefire earplugs for many years
DougH 270 #3 December 31, 2019 Those looked awesome until I saw the price. I will absolutely lose my 200 dollar pair of custom ear pro a few weekends into the season.
ColoradoJones 10 #4 January 1, 2020 I Use the EP3s as well (referenced in the thread link above). They work well enough for me at reducing the engine noise and freefall noise to keep my ears from ringing the rest of the day and night. I have tinnitus from my years in industrial work and not enough brains to wear earplugs, so now im just protecting what hearing I have left as well as drowning out background noise so i can concentrate. Plenty good enough protection, and zero worries if I lose one. Sure, there's no super-fancy frequency-dependent attenuation to hear speech more easily, but we aren't holding deep philosophical discussions anyway while skydiving.

Can you hear farts with your earplugs?
raftman 12 #7 January 8, 2020 It's the ones you can't hear that you should be worried about!

Jackpot is if they climb out right after us. Have fun hiking back! ^_^
